Coach Johanna "Jo" Howland (left) & Katie Robertson
On January 6 2008 The Tri- State Alpine Ski Racing Association held its first GS (Giant Slalom) Race of the 2007-2008 season hosted by Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort Hancock, MA. The event was attended by over 250 competitors, representing mountain racing teams from Butternut Ski Area, Jiminy Peak Mt., Catamount, Blandford and Bousquet providing a geographical racer attendance from NY, MA. VT & CT.

Representing The Jiminy Peak Racing Team , local skier Kate Robertson who attends Haldane Central School in Cold Spring, was ecstatic in gaining 4th place. The contest that was so close that most placing skiers were only tenths of a second between standings. Under the coaching of Gary Coyne & Johanna "Jo" Howland from Jiminy Peak, The Mt. Ski Team was well represented and finished in high standings despite this being the first official race of the season.

Katie noted that she was very excited with her GS results and was looking forward to the balance of the skiing season with the hope of increasing her personal standing along with her teams in the Tri-State competition. Go Team Jiminy!
