Winter Break Activities Give Kids Some Indoor Fun at Reed Memorial Library in Carmel
A variety of activities will take place at Reed Memorial Library during the school winter break period in February.
The following workshops are scheduled:
Tuesday, Feb. 19, 11am- 12pm, Jewelry making - Participants will make a hemp and bead bracelet, aged 7 and up.
Chess Club - Club members will meet at the usual time. Beginners start at 4, Intermediate/ advanced players at 5. Non-members are welcome to come and join in a game.
Wed. Feb. 20 - 11am- 12:30pm: T-shirt painting - Children attending this workshop will need to bring a light colored T-shirt to decorate. They should also have an old shirt to wear while they are working on the project; ages 10 and up.
Amazing Animals - 3:15- 4pm, Bruce Lowder of Animal Encounters will be there with an assortment of interesting animals; ages 4 and up
Thursday, Feb. 21, 11am- 12pm, scrapbooking - Participants will create a winter theme page suitable for use in a scrapbook or 8x11 picture frame. Each child should bring 1 or 2 winter photos of themselves. Ages 7 and up.
Make a Cloud Climber - 3- 4pm, Children will decorate and assemble their own balsa wood gliders; ages 7 and up.
Friday, Feb. 22, Winter Storytime - Stories and a craft, ages 5 and up. Bingo - 3-4pm, play bingo! The winner gets a prize; ages 5 and up.
If the library closes due to snow, the programs that are affected will be rescheduled to an upcoming weeknight or Saturday
