Putnam Arts Fund Recipients Announced
The Putnam Arts Council is pleased to announce it has awarded $8000 to six non-profit organizations to support cultural programs and services that will take place in Putnam County in 2008. These public funds are provided by the Putnam County Legislature and the program is administered by the Putnam Arts Council.
Each year, a volunteer panel recommends funding for the applicants it feels reach the broadest audiences and provide the greatest benefit to county residents.
The 2008 recipients are:
-Aery Theatre Company for 2nd Annual Autumn One Act Play competition at the Depot Theatre in Garrison. $1600.
-Garrison Art Center - for production & distribution of a video in conjunction with exhibit "Drawing Revealed". $1080.
-Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival for new discounted Family Night Tickets including pre-show interactive workshops. $1800
- Landmarks Preservation Society for summer music series at the Old Southeast Church - varied program of music & dance. Award $1300.
-Nowodworski Foundation for free children's art workshops and exhibits at Mahopac Library. $820.
-Reed Memorial Library for "A Summer of American Music"- a Sunday afternoon music series at the library in Carmel. $1400.
