Legendary Saxophonist Benny Golson Plays with USMA Jazz Nights in Free Performance
The United States Military Academy Band Jazz Knights will present an evening of big band jazz with legendary saxophonist Benny Golson. The performance will take place on Friday, February 15 at 7:30pm. in Eisenhower Hall Theatre at West Point. Be advised that this has changed from previously published materials. This performance is free and open to the public. Benny Golson has been active as a composer, arranger, lyricist, producer and tenor saxophonist for more than 50 years.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Golson has recorded over 30 albums and written over 300 compositions. Extremely accomplished in his own right, Mr. Golson has worked with such noted musicians as Count Basie, Sammy Davis Jr., Mama Cass Elliott, Quincy Jones, Itzhak Perlman and Diana Ross. He has also composed music for television programs including M*A*S*H, Mission Impossible and The Partridge Family and advertising music for Chevrolet, Chrysler, McDonald's and Pepsi Cola.
