Registrations are now being accepted for the eight-session skill-building series, "Managing Defiant Behavior", provided by the Mental Health Association in Dutchess County, 253 Mansion Street, Poughkeepsie, beginning Tuesday, March 4, 2008 to April 22, 2008. This education program was developed to help parents of children ages 2 to 11 increase child compliance, decrease disruptive behavior, and establish disciplinary systems without corporal punishment. There is no fee for the 8-week course, however, a donation of $35 per family is suggested. Pre-registration is required. The course will be taught by Marlene Taylor, M.P.S., Education & Training Coordinator at the Mental Health Association in Dutchess County.
