Club Fit Calendar of Free Community Events for March

Club Fit Jefferson Valley is pleased to offer the following one-of-a-kind events during the month of March. These events are all free and open to the public, but registration is required. Tuesday, March 4: Climate Change: Why All the Heat?

Join Dr. Fred Koontz, Executive Director of Teatown Lake Reservation, at 11:00am to learn what all the talk about global warming means for us, our children, and all the species of life living in the Hudson Valley. Dr. Koontz will review the causes of climate change and the predicted consequences it will have on our local communities, and will present practical steps that we can take to minimize the consequences that climate change will have on our health and well-being.

Tuesday, March 11: Diabetes Workshop & Screening

Northern Westchester Hospital will provide a diabetes screening from 10 to 11am. Participants will receive information pertaining to diabetic care.

Wednesday, March 12: "Speak Your Way to the Peak" Workshop

Join communications expert Matthew Cossolotto, author of All the World's a Podium- "The Manifesto for the Authentic Speaking Revolution," at 7pm for a public speaking "workout" to learn everything you wanted to know about public speaking but were afraid to ask. He will cover the five mindset shifts for authentic fear-free speaking, the six-point checklist for powerful presentations, the secret of whole-brain speaking, the wizard of OZ formula and much, much more. Mr. Cossolotto served as special assistant to Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Jim Wright and spent four years as legislative assistant to Rep. Leon E. Panetta. He later served as speechwriter and communications executive at MCI, Pepsi-Cola International and GTE, and in 1996 founded Ovations International- "Home of the Standing O®."
