SeniorNet Helps to Make a Difference in Life

Are you on the "other side of fifty"? And do you think about what is really important in this culture of things and "must-have toys? Have you made a difference by being here? SeniorNet really need your help, and, in helping them you will truly make a difference. At the Mahopac William Koehler SeniorNet Center they need helpers in training senior citizens to use the computer. Even if you only have a basic knowledge of computer use, their experienced instructors and coaches will teach you, and you, in turn, can help others in all the facets of computer use. With many new students, they sometimes don't have enough volunteers for helping all who apply.

One of their students said, "The SeniorNet Center has changed my life in many ways." They see enhanced self-improvement and communication in our senior students. They see them seizing the chance to explore new ideas, stimulating them mentally by investigating all areas of knowledge, "talking" to others at convenient times, sharing experiences. It is like entering a new, exciting world. Sharing pictures, ideas, reaching out to others can become a part of every day life.

If you want to make a difference and help others, this can be the opportunity to step up to help. All you need to have are the basic computer skills and they will teach you to be part of their volunteer group, a group of caring, dedicated seniors. Call RSVP Director Mary White at 845-621-0600 for more information.
