Sheriff Reports Two Traffic Arrests for Unlicensed Operation in Putnam Valley
Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports several recent arrests of motorists for driving with suspended licenses throughout Putnam County.
Deputy Sheriff Timothy Keith initiated a traffic stop on Route 9 in the Town of Philipstown on January 19, 2008 at 5:11pm after witnessing a moving violation. The deputy determined that the driver, Matthew J. Olson, 25, of Putnam Valley, was driving with a suspended license. The defendant was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, a misdemeanor, and released in his own recognizance pending a February 4, 2008 appearance in Philipstown Justice Court.
Deputy Sheriff Jason Quick stopped a motorist on Oscawana Lake Road in the Town of Putnam Valley on January 21, 2008 at 12:20am after observing an equipment violation. An investigation revealed that Jean M. Seitz, 48, of Putnam Valley, had two suspensions on her license. The defendant was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, a misdemeanor, and released in her own recognizance pending a future court date in Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court.
