Nelsonville Man Charged With Aggravated Harassment
Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Village of Nelsonville man for repeatedly harassing and threatening a local woman.
Deputy Sheriff Robert Detlefs received the complaint from the woman shortly before midnight on January 21, 2008. The complainant reported that a 17-year-old from the Village of Nelsonville had telephoned the woman several times and threatened to kill her. The deputy located the young person, arrested him and charged him with Aggravated Harassment, a misdemeanor. The defendant was arraigned before Village of Cold Spring Justice Thomas Costello and released to the custody of his father pending a February 13, 2008 appearance in Village of Nelsonville Justice Court.
If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant could face up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
