Support Connection Breast and Ovarian Cancer Support Groups are Offered in February
Support Connection, Inc., a not-for profit organization that provides free, confidential support services for people affected by breast and ovarian cancer, offers a wide range of support groups women with breast and ovarian cancer. Groups are offered in Putnam and Westchester. For a complete calendar, visit www.supportconnection.org.

The following groups in Putnam are scheduled for February:
Breast Cancer Support Group
Details: Offered once a month. Focus is on life after a cancer diagnosis. Facilitated by a licensed social worker who has experienced breast cancer. Date & time: Feb. 18, 2008 (3rd Monday each month) 10:15am
Location: Mahopac Public Library, Mahopac
Breast and Ovarian Cancer Support Group
Details: Offered once a month. For women living with breast or ovarian cancer, focus is on life after a cancer diagnosis. Facilitated by a licensed social worker who has experienced breast cancer. Date & time: Feb. 11, 2008 (2nd Monday each month) 10am
Location: Putnam Hospital Center, Carmel
Ovarian & Gynecological Cancer Support Group
Details: Offered once a month. For women with ovarian or gynecological cancer. Facilitated by a clinical social worker, and focuses on topics related to life after a cancer diagnosis. Date & time: Feb. 20, 2008 (3rd Wednesday each month) 7pm
Location: Putnam Hospital Center, Carmel
Ovarian Cancer Telephone Support Group
Details: Toll-Free Telephone Support Group for women with ovarian cancer, available every month through Support Connection. This service is available to women regardless of where they live. Ovarian cancer support services are hard to find in many places. The group offers women with ovarian cancer the opportunity to support one another and to share their concerns and experiences with other women who have the same diagnosis. Group is led by a trained peer facilitator who has experienced ovarian cancer. After registering in advance with Support Connection, participants call into a toll-free number and are connected with the group via teleconference.
