Taxes, Taxes, More Taxes - and Services
To the Editor:
The old adage is "Nothing is more certain than death and taxes." No one welcomes a new and higher round of taxes - Federal, State, County or Local. Will they ever end? Unfortunately, no. But we taxpayers depend on services.
A few days ago, I noticed a catch basin on East Mountain Road South, near my property, that looked in dangerous need of repair. I called Highway Superintendent Roger Chirico, who examined it the following morning. The catch basin was replaced the next morning!
Our Highway Department's maintenance and repair of our town roads is outstanding and worth every penny we pay in taxes.
