| It was all in the family at Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES this week. Erik Cantamessa, The Tech Center's masonry teacher, and his father, Everett, who volunteers as a teaching assistant in the class, were photographed by videographer Matthew Pungello (a former video student at Southern Westchester BOCES) for an upcoming Art News cable show promoting the occupational folk art exhibit February 26 to April 5 at the Westchester Arts Council in White Plains.
"The fact that Erik learned masonry from his father in the traditional way and is now teaching students at BOCES is something we plan to feature in the upcoming exhibit," says Tom van Buren, director of the council's Folk Arts Program. The exhibit will include photos of Cantamessa projects as well as information on the BOCES Masonry program.
Purdell, a videographer for Art News and the Westchester Arts Council, is a Yonkers resident; the Cantamessas live in Putnam Valley.
