ARC in Greater NY Receives Grant for Computers at New Putnam Office
Grant provided by Assemblyman Ball also provides emergency prep programs

New York State Assembly Member Greg Ball recently presented the American Red Cross in Greater New York (ARC/GNY) with a $10,000 grant to help the organization install new computers at its Putnam County office (The Lawlor Building, Route 311 and 164, Patterson) and provide additional emergency preparedness presentations for residents and organizations throughout the county.

Mr. Ball, who oversees District 99, which includes Patterson, Carmel and Southeast, presented the funding to Michelle Strom, director, ARC/GNY - Putnam/West Point, and Community Development Associate Stephanie Schanen-Skimmyhorn.

The American Red Cross in Greater New York is a key humanitarian partner and a vital participant in New York's plans and programs to help the nine million people in New York City and Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Sullivan counties prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.

ARC/GNY is not a governmental organization and relies on individual and corporate gifts, special events and grants from foundations and local, state and federal government to fund its essential programs and services. For more information about volunteering, donating and training, call 845-938-4100, or visit www.nyredcross.org/ putnam .
