Graymoor Series to Discuss Modern Spiritual Masters on Saturdays in Lent
Beginning February 16, the Graymoor Spiritual Life Center in Garrison, will offer "Mini-Retreats for Busy People" on each Saturday in Lent. These mini-retreats are based on the popular series published by Orbis Books, Modern Spiritual Masters.
Among the "masters" that will be examined are: Simone Weil on February 16; Pedro Arrupe, SJ on February 23; Bede Griffiths on March 1; Mohandas Gandhi on March 8, and Karl Rahner, SJ on March 15.
Each Saturday's mini-retreat begins at 9am and ends with a Lenten lunch at noon. The program includes a presentation on one of the masters, discussion and mass.
Presenters include: Patrick Hayes, St. John's University, Staten Island, NY; Frank and Mary Frost, writer/director and producer respectively of Pedro Arrupe: His Life and Legacy, McLean, VA; William R. Burrows, Orbis Press, Maryknoll, NY; Mar Peter-Raoul, Marist College, Poughkeepsie ; and Jeanine Hill-Fletcher, Fordham University, Bronx.
Copies of the books are available at the Graymoor Book & Gift Center. Donation for each session is $15.00. Pre-registration is requested.
