William Sayegh to Host Corporate Breakfast Event to Build Awareness for Walk For MS

Multiple Sclerosis is a neurological disease that affects thousands of individuals and their families throughout the Hudson Valley, including many friends and neighbors in Putnam County. On Thursday, February 21, William Sayegh, owner of The Sayegh Law Firm, will host a breakfast for corporate leaders to Join the Movement and kick-off the 2008 Putnam County Walk for MS that will be held in May. The breakfast, which begins at 7:30am, is by invitation for corporate leaders and will be held at The Centennial Golf Club, 185 Simpson Road in Carmel.

"We are bringing corporate principals in Putnam County together to give them an opportunity to learn about multiple sclerosis and how it affects our community. As recognized leaders, it's an opportunity for them to set an example in raising the bar through their organizations to support the vital services provided by the Southern New York Chapter of the National MS Society to their friends and neighbors living with the disease in Putnam," said Mr. Sayegh.

Multiple Sclerosis, which affects over 400,000 Americans, is an auto-immune disease that attacks the myelin tissue of the brain and/or central nervous system. It has no known cause or cure and it is twice as common in women as in men.

In 2007 over 200,000 participants at 58 MS Chapters throughout the country raised over $50 million to help National MS Society Chapters continue to provide support to clients and families who are affected by MS. In addition the money is used to fund critical research into the cause of and finding a cure for multiple sclerosis.

The Southern New York Chapter of the National MS Society, which is based in White Plains and serves clients and families in Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Sullivan Counties, joins the Society's other Chapters in helping the National MS Society to find a cure and meet the needs of Americans living with MS. In 2007 the Chapter raised $1.6 million through individual giving and major events that included Walk MS; the Dystel Memorial Golf Classic for MS; Swim the Hudson for MS; the Women Against MS Luncheon (WAMS); and Bike MS.
