5-Year-Old Donates Her Hair for Locks of Love

Shana Hager, 5, of Wallkill, NY, daughter of Rene Hager, granddaughter of Marie and George ("Pop Pop") Tompkins of Cold Spring and Great- Granddaughter of Nancy Tompkins donated her hair on Saturday, February 9,2008 to Locks of Love. Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. Shana wanted to help the sick kids who have lost their hair - although she also wanted to have a "wig" made for her Pop Pop because he doesn't have much hair!! Rosemariee Olshakowski of Cold Spring cut Shana's hair.

How to Donate

* 10 inches measured tip to tip is the minimum length needed for a hairpiece. * Hair must be in a ponytail or braid before it is cut. * Hair must be clean and completely dry before it is mailed in. * Place the ponytail or braid inside of a plastic bag, and then inside of a padded envelope. * Fill out the hair donation form, or write your name and address on a separate sheet of paper and include inside the envelope. * All hair donations must be mailed to Locks of Love at:

2925 10th Avenue N Suite 102 Lake Worth, FL33461- 3099. Please be sure to use the entire zip code when mailing.
