Garrison Arts Center Partners with Philipstown Rec to Develop Expanded Art Programming
In a new "off-campus" relationship, Garrison Art Center has partnered with the Philipstown Recreation Department to develop expanded art programming at the Philipstown Community Center. Children and adults looking to get serious fun out of the arts will enjoy these new opportunities.
Starting in April, classes and workshops introduce the new "Media Lab" and "Introduction to Art" themes. To ensure personal attention class sizes are limited, so don't delay in signing up. Refer to page 13 in the Philipstown Recreation Department's Spring Catalogue to review GAC programs at the Philipstown Recreation Department.
The Media Lab makes new technology accessible and fun. Take "Get To Know Your Digital Camera" to finally figure out how your new camera works. If your summer pictures were a disaster last year, take "Capture Your Children Digitally" and figure out how to get things right.
Intimidated by Photoshop? Stop letting that user-friendly software push you around. Sign up for "Intro To Adobe Photoshop" to make it all accessible. Is your floor length mirror seeing a young, budding actress or actor daily? Sign your child up for the wonderful video class "Acting For The Camera"!
Introduction To Art Classes are structured for adults interested in exploring art making. Basic Drawing will be held in mornings weekly, and Introduction To Painting will be offered evenings weekly. Each provides an opportunity to enjoy exploring the fundamentals. Taught in the Community Center Art Studio, budding artists will have the right setting and instruction to get under way with learning.
All programs are designed for beginners, and are taught by professional artists eager to introduce fundamental skills. Talented instructors Lori Adams, Jamie Thivierge, and Ada Pilar Cruz will help you or your child achieve confidence quickly through a strong start in the right direction. GAC at the Rec: What a great chance to have fun trying new things!
