Talk of the Town

Our best wishes go with Shannon Schaars of Garrison who deployed to Iraq this past week. Ms. Schaars, who is a Putnam County Sheriff's Deputy, will be with a military police detachment. God speed and get home safe.

It seems early but the Villages of Cold Spring and Nelsonville are gearing up for their elections on March 18. A reminder to everyone, the PCN&R does not print letters to the editor concerning the election, the issues and/or candidates the week before (March 12). If you have comments/thoughts that you would like to share with the community (and who doesn't?) about issues facing the villages, please get them to us by noon, March 3.

Birthdays this week include John Nichter, Dolores Moran, Frank Famularo, Peter Nobile, John Campbell, Paul Tompkins, Nipa Parikh, Peter Scherer, Dominic Chirico, Charles Junjulas, Khalid Memon, Louis Grasso, Ed Roth, Linday Taylan, Owen Marks, Heather Tomlins, Maureen Hynes, Charles Cornwell, Ryan Van Tassel, , Nehal Sheth, Reepa Kadakia, Jeff Rizzi, Sr. and Megan Horan. Congratulations to all. An extra special birthday wish goes to Matthew Nobile, who celebrated his birthday on February 16.
