Mighty Theater Comes to the Garrison School
The Garrison Union Free School District is proud to announce that the Mighty Theater program which started in September is alive and well at the Garrison School. They are also proud to announce the first event, which takes place on February 29 at 2pm. This event, which will be a 6th grade play, will feature A Feast of Dionysious. This collection of adaptations of Greek myths is directed by Mr. Ian Berger, Middle School English teacher. Mr. Berger was also the director of last year's hit play, "The Monsters of Maple Street."
This year's play features every 6th grader at the Garrison Union Free School. They are pleased to announce that this is the first production to come out of the year-long Arts in Residency Program through the Mighty Theater of Peekskill. The twofold goals of this residency are to provide each student with an awareness of theater and drama and to develop dramatic productions and performances based on existing curriculum. This play, The Feast of Dionysius grew out of the 6th grade study of Greek history and their study of Mythology. We invite all parents and the public to attend this very exciting production. Mark you calendar for February 29 at 2pm at the Garrison School.
