Program on Growing Up Irish American at Brewster Library
Ann Fallon Burnell, author of A Child's Heart- Growing up Irish American win speak at the Brewster Public Library on Saturday, March 15 at 2pm. The daughter of Irish immigrants in Brooklyn, she will share the sometimes poignant, unexpectedly funny and always memorable adventures of "Rosie." As one critic observed..."Rosle's tales will melt your heart like butter on a slice of Irish brown bread ... fresh from the oven."
The author whose stories have appeared in magazines and on National Public Radio, will also share her own insights into the "self publishing" process Deciding to go this route, she has navigated the pitfalls successfully and found the experience "rewarding."
Ann, the mother of seven and grandmother of eleven, hails from Rockville Center, Long Island. She is an active member of the Brewster Writers Roundtable which originated at the Library.. She accompanied mentor, Louisa Burns-Bisogno on the Tuscan Writers Retreat in 2006 and began her novel set in Renaissance Italy. Together, Ann and Louisa wrote the play Stained Glass which was honored by The New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences at a special event.
