Carmel Man Charged With Drug Possession
Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Carmel man on drug-related charges following a traffic stop. Deputy Sheriff Luigi Osso was on patrol on Fair Street in the Town of Carmel on February 19, 2008 at 3:43pm when he observed a motorist commit a moving violation. The deputy initiated a traffic stop and, through the course of an investigation, determined that the driver, Scott J. Lisk, 18, of 7 St. Michael's Terrace, Carmel, was in possession of quantities of marijuana and a controlled substance. The deputy arrested Mr. Lisk and charged him with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation; and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, a misdemeanor. Mr. Lisk was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and is due in the Town of Carmel Justice Court to answer the charge at a later date. If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant could face up to one year in jail and fines of up to $1,000.
