Putnam County Housing Corporation's First Home Club Series to Begin

The Putnam County Housing Corporation (PCHC) will begin a five-part Homebuyers Seminar, April through May at 7pm in the Community Room at 10 Gleneida Court.. The Seminar will be held every week for five weeks through April and May.

The Putnam County Housing Corporation will present the first workshop, "Getting Financially Ready". The workshop will cover the following topics: Personal Income and Expense Worksheet; Personal Budget Worksheet; a six-month budget plan; and Keys to Successful Budgeting.

Interested participants should call Anita LaGuardia at 225-8493, ext. 200 to register. The seminar is part of the PCHC's First Home Club, which it administers in conjunction with the Mahopac National Bank and HSBC. The First Home Club provides income eligible, low and moderate income Putnam homebuyers with matching funds to be used for down payments and closing costs. Income eligibility is determined by household size and income. Eligibility guidelines for one and two person households are $68,064 and for three plus households, $78,274. For every $1 saved and deposited into a dedicated account under a systematic schedule of savings, the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York will match up to $3, not to exceed $7,500 in matching funds per household. Participants do not have to be a member of the First Home Club to attend the seminar.
