Rockland County Man Charged with Driving With Suspended License, Registration
Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Rockland County man on charges of driving while his license and vehicle registration are suspended.
According to Smith, Deputy Sheriff Michael Sutherland was on patrol on Route 9D in the Town of Philipstown on March 3, 2008 at 2:01pm when he observed a motorist commit a moving violation. Upon initiating a traffic stop, the deputy determined that the driver, Michael C. Susco, 53, of Blauvelt, New York, had been driving while his license and vehicle registration are suspended. The deputy arrested Mr. Susco and charged him with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree and with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Registration is Suspended, misdemeanors. The defendant was released in his own recognizance pending a future appearance. in the Town of Philipstown Justice Court to answer the charges.
If found guilty of the misdemeanor charges, the defendant could face up to one year in jail and fines of up to $1,000.00.
