Beacon Woman Charged with Driving With Suspended License
The Putnam County Sheriff's Department reports that Deputy Sheriff Michael Sutherland was on patrol in the Town of Philipstown on February 27, 2008 at 7:36pm when he stopped a motorist for driving erratically. An investigation revealed that the woman, Eveth M. Martin, 47, of Beacon, was driving while her license is suspended. The deputy arrested Ms. Martin and charged her with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, a misdemeanor. The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and released after posting $30 cash bail. The defendant is scheduled to appear in the Town of Philipstown Justice Court at a later date to answer the charge.
If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant could face up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
