Cold Spring Area Chamber of Commerce Hosts Annual Awards Dinner
Local businesses, organizations, and individuals are honored

The Cold Spring Area Chamber of Commerce will recognize the achievements of a few of the community's most dedicated members at the Annual Awards Dinner to be held Thursday, March 20 at 6pm at Dutchess Manor in Beacon.

Claudio Marzollo will be honored with The Katie O'Donnell Award of Excellence for his outstanding contributions to Philipstown during his tenure as chairman of the Philipstown Recreation Commission. The Recreation Department and Depot Theatre have grown tremendously under his leadership and have become places that offer much to all members of the community.

The Chamber will also recognize the hard work and dedication of two of its Board members who have stepped down: Marshall Mermell and Michelle Tomlins. Mermell is the head of Marketing Works Now of Nelsonville and has recently been tapped to work on the new Putnam County Empire Zone. Tomlins, who is the owner of Stationary Objects, formerly a shop on Main Street in Cold Spring and now available for special orders, had organized and ran the very successful Cold Spring Harvest Festival.

An area high school senior will be awarded the Phillip Baumgarten Memorial Scholarship for work in the community. Six students have applied.

Finally, Chamber members, businesses and residents in the community are asked to cast their votes for the winner of the Innovation in Business Award to honor a business or organization that has positively impacted the immediate community and Hudson Valley region with job creation, business growth, new initiatives and sustainabilty. The nominees for this award are: Hudson Highlands Land Trust, Women's Work, River Architects, Harold Lyon & Sons and Hudson Valley Outfitters.

To place your vote, visit www.coldspringchamber.com. Tickets for the Awards Dinner are still available. Visit the online calendar to register for this exciting event. The dinner with cash bar is $35 for members and $55 for non-members and guests.
