A Wake Up Call for Our Planet
To the Editor:

Increasingly overdue is our lack of an adequate notice of our blandly and blindly backing into world-wide catastrophe via increasing world-wide over-population and pollution coupled with exhaustion of vital natural resources, particularly fertile soil, while we add to global warming and drying along with polluting shrinking supplies of drinkable waters, backing this with ever increasing the spreading supplies of nuclear weapons capable of ending all with a bang not so grand! Enough already?

Or should we cling to the hope of finding-another virgin planet able to bear us while we hope we have learned how to spare it before our indulging in still another rape!?

Pardon this rude wake-up call but it increasingly seems someone needs to make it before we nip the last buds of hope- leaving only some ragged rag weeds: we hang up to dry with us.

Instead, opening up the possibility of our waking up and breaking through /the dominance of egocentric awareness, there is an age-old remedy consisting of sitting and turning off thought chatter and calming our flow of feelings long enough to allow our opening to full awareness of our inspiring cosmic fullness of Divine Oneness enabling us to see beyond ourselves enough to fully feel our need to respond to the needs of the holy wholeness of life. The radical only reliable cure for our not backing into worldwide egocentric annihilation, the current most likely finale.

In short, may we wake up in time to allow life to live on this planet before we simply exhaust our planet's capacity to continue to bear us.

At age 81, still hopeful enough to continue to communicate: what should be long obvious and is increasingly vital.
