Community Fundraising Basketball Shoot-Out Benefits Many Not-for-Profit Agencies
The Carmel Rotary Club and Carmel High School's Rotary Interact Club are sponsoring a Basketball Shoot-out on Saturday April 5, 2008, 9am to 3pm at the Carmel High School Gymnasium, Fair Street, Carmel.
The 'Shoot Out' is a fundraising opportunity for community not-for-profit organizations. In this event 80% of the dollars raised will go to the involved agency and 20% to Rotary for additional charitable giving.
To participate the basketball 'shooter' obtains a sponsor sheet and solicits supporters. The supporters can either donate a pre-determined amount of money for the 'shooter' to participate regardless of the number of baskets made, or pledge a specific amount per basket successfully completed. Each 'shooter' is given two minutes.
There will be a total of 16 trophies for the 6 different age groups awarded in the 17 and under youth division. There will also be prizes presented to the top18 and older, adult shooter in 3 different age groups.
There are many not-for-profit agencies involved and that this is a great opportunity for the public to fund raise for the organization that they support.
It is a simple formula and anyone who is interested in obtaining a sponsor sheet or additional information regarding the event can contact: Carmel Rotary at www.carmelrotary.org Rotarian Al Lotrecchiano at 845-225- 4835.
