Philipstown Community Blood Drive for Spring Moves to Garrison Fire House
Will take place on Fri., May 9, 2:30-8pm

With the construction set to begin at the North Highlands Firehouse another venue for the Spring and Summer blood drives had to be found. The Garrison Volunteer Fire Company has agreed to host these blood drives. The first event will be Friday May 9 from 2:30- 8pm.

Please plan to attend as every pint collected means that another life can be saved. The majority of patients receiving transfusions are suffering from cancer. When the moment arrives that a patient has to have blood products to survive, there are no substitutes for another person's blood. Anyone over 17 in good health can donate. Sixteen year olds can donate with parental permission. For information on forms or medical eligibility you can call the NY Blood Center Monday through Friday 9-5pm at 800- 688-0900 or, on the web, at www.nybloodcenter.org (Search for parental permission).

The Garrison Firehouse is located on northbound side of Route Nine just one mile north of Graymoor or almost directly across from the Garrison Garage. From the Cold Spring area you can travel south on Route 9 and look for the Garrison Fire House on the left. It is 1.4 to 1.5 miles south of Snake Hill Road. If traveling from 9D in Cold Spring go south to Snake Hill Road, which is at the corner of 9D and the Hudson Highlands Land Trust. At the top of Snake Hill Road turn right and travel 1.4 to 1.5 miles. The Firehouse is on your left.
