Upcoming Appearances by Cold Spring Poet Jo Pitkin
In celebration of National Poetry Month, Cold Spring's Jo Pitkin will read with other authors from Riverine: An Anthology of Hudson Valley Writers (Codhill Press) at the Newburgh Free Library, 124 Grand Street, on Thursday, April 3, 7- 8:30pm. Hosted by Barbara Adams and Larry Carr, this event is sponsored by the Hudson River Poets. The reading is free to the public. Pitkin will also read with Joel Allegretti in the Slapering Hol Press Second Friday Café Series on Friday, April 11, at 7:30pm at the Hudson Valley Writers' Center. The HVWC is located at 300 Riverside Drive, Sleepy Hollow. Admission is $5 ($3 for HVWC members). A book signing and reception will follow the reading. In May, Pitkin will participate in a poetry panel on Saturday, May 17, at 2pm with fellow poets Suzanne Cleary, Roger Roloff, and Marcia Ivans at the first-ever Millbrook Book Festival. The festival will feature author panels on such topics as nature, science, spirituality, gardening, cooking, children's books, history, historical fiction, and local history.
