Connie Fiedler's Water, Water, Everwhere! Featured at Bannerman Island Gallery

The Bannerman Island Gallery welcomes back Connie Fiedler with a new art show, Water, Water, Everywhere! Featuring breathtaking water landscapes from The Hudson River Valley and surrounding areas. Painting in her expressive though realistic style, Fiedler's power is often felt in the large brush strokes rich in color and abundant in texture. Her process begins by choosing an inspirational scene. Drawing on her memories and several photographic elements of this minimal landscape, she creates a larger, more abstract painting in her studio. Inspired by Kahn, Whistler, Wyeth and Sargeant, Fiedler admires their contemplative manner, their ability to capture the mood of a landscape in a moment of time.

Fifty percent of the proceeds raised from the sale of photographs will benefit the preservation of Bannerman Island. According to Neil Caplan, Executive Director of The Bannerman castle Trust, Inc., "This show is stunning and not to be missed! This is a great way to support the preservation of the island and take home a beautiful photograph for your collection"

The Bannerman Castle Trust, Inc. is currently raising funds to match a $350,000 challenge grant from the New York State Environmental Protection Fund. We have already raised $214,000 to date and need your help to raise the remaining funds. Plans are in the works to start the RFP bidding for the first phase of the stabilization of the Bannerman Family Residence. Photographs of the Bannerman Residence and Bannerman Castle are included in this show.

The show opens, April 12, 2008. Meet the artists from 2pm to 4pm. Gallery hours are Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon to 5 pm and from 12 noon to 9pm on Second Saturdays and by appointment during the week.

To find out more information regarding the gallery or how you can donate to the EPF Challenge grant, call Neil Caplan at 845-234-3204.
