Musical Tapestry: Mostly Music by African-American Composers Theme of Next Potluck Concert

Potluck Concerts continue with Musical Tapestry: mostly Music by African-American composers, on Friday, April 11, 2008 at 7:30pm at the Cornwall Presbyterian Church. Music will include music by William Grant Still, Nathaniel Dett, Florence Price, spirituals, and a special guest appearance: Johannes Brahms' a major violin sonata but with clarinet!

The performers are all local professionals: soprano Carol Lundergan, clarinetist John Parrette, violinist Emily Faxon, folk-singer Lydia Adams Davis, and pianist Ruthanne Schempf.

A Potluck Concert is an evening out with music, dessert, and crayons for children and the fidgety. Crayons are provided as are coloring books for children and paper for inspired adults. After the concert, there is dessert and coffee! The Potluck concerts begin at 7:30pm at the Cornwall Presbyterian Church at 222 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson.
