Tzedakah in Action Presentation at Temple Beth- El
On Friday evening, April 4, at 8pm at Temple Beth-El, 118 Grand Avenue, Poughkeepsie, there will be a special presentation: "Tzedakah in Action: The Laurel Rubin Farm Worker Justice Project ."
Laurel Rubin was a young attorney raised at Temple Beth- El who was committed to the Jewish ideals of justice and one law for all. She was killed while working with migrant farm workers in Washington State, and the fund was set up to further her ideals. Speakers will be National Board member and attorney Greg Zipes, also raised at Temple Beth-El, and law student Jillian Haynal, a Laurel Rubin intern in 2007. All are welcome.
