PVHS World Language Club Celebrates National Foreign Language Week

Kris and Alexis Thornton, left (both wearing red) with student members of the World Language Club at Putnam Valley High School.
The Putnam Valley High School (PVHS) World Language Club recently celebrated National Foreign Language Week from March 3 to March 9, 2008. Students met with club advisors Alexis and Kris Thornton to celebrate with food from several countries- Irish soda bread, Italian penne a la vodka, and an assortment of French cheeses and crackers. The daily afternoon celebrations of food were designed to open students to new culinary experiences.

The week culminated with a special message from the Putnam Valley Interim Principal Richard Herlihy, addressing the entire faculty, staff and students in Spanish to congratulate them on their exploration of different cultures.
