Hendrick Hudson Lions Club Opens Registration for First Annual Adult Kickball Tournament

The Hendrick Hudson Lions Club is pleased to announce it is now accepting registrations for its first annual Adult Kickball Tournament, to be held on Sunday, April 13 from 10am- 4pm at the Town of Cortlandt's Sprout Brook Park.

What would it take to make you feel like a kid again? Would sunshine, friends, and a big green field help? Haven't played kickball since you were a kid? No problem! This is the perfect opportunity to get reacquainted with a childhood favorite. No experience? Athletic prowess not what it once was? Who cares? The tournament is intended to be fun, laid back and social, so everyone is sure to have a great time, regardless of age, shape, or athletic ability. Lions will have hot dogs, hamburgers and refreshments for sale.

All teams are guaranteed to play at least two games, and to have a great time! The event is open to all groups: pub teams, church groups, office mates, old high school friends, even other service clubs. There are no restrictions!

"Kickball is fast becoming one of the most popular warmweather activities for adults across the country," Tournament organizer Michelle Carter said. "It's a game that nearly everyone can play. We're looking forward to a day full of laughs and fun, and maybe a little friendly rivalry."

The Hendrick Hudson Lions Club is most well-known for its sponsorship of annual Easter Egg Hunts and Pumpkin Festivals. But the Hen Hud Lions also provide a number of other lesser-known community services. When a local child struggled with a disease that could not be treated locally, the Hen Hud Lions Club provided airfare so treatment could be rendered. When a local family lost their home to fire, and another family's home suddenly needed to be made wheelchair accessible, the Lions were there. For years, the Hen Hud Lions Club has done free eye screening for area pre-school children, provided college scholarships to deserving students, and donated countless hours of sweat equity to help make our community a better place for all of us.

Teams may have 8-15 players, with a minimum of four members of each gender. While not required, teams are encouraged to choose a theme or slogan, and dress the part. Remember, the goal of the event is fun! Registration is $150 per team, and players must have their own health insurance. Registration is limited to 12 teams, so sign up today!
