Putnam County Health Department Announces Closing of the Putnam County Recycling Center
The County-operated Recycling Center, located off Route 6 in Carmel, will close at the end of March. Residents are encouraged to call their respective Town Clerks to identify recycling options available in each town. Phone numbers for the Town Clerks' offices are as follows:
Phillipstown: 265-3329
Putnam Valley: 526-3280
The County location is being eliminated in an effort to save money by avoiding duplication of services. Every town has current recycling options, and residents who utilize an individual residential curbside waste disposal company are also encouraged to recycle with them.
