Free Hunter Safety Course Presented by DEC and Putnam County Federation of Sportsmen Club
The Department of Environmental Conservation and the Putnam County Federation of Sportsmen Club is offering a free Hunter Safety Course on Saturday April 12 and Sunday April 13, 2008 at the Garrison Fish and Game Club in Garrison, from 8:30am until 5pm both days. Students must attend both sessions to be certified. Get ready for spring turkey and early bear seasons and come for two fun-filled days of learning about hunting, and firearms regulations and safety to be certified to harvest both small and large game. Among the items covered are ethics of hunting, gun safety, outdoors survival, water safety, hunting heritage, antique arms and much more.
