Great Day To Be A Wildcat

Cold Spring's Billy Thom cuts down the nets in recognition for his part in Davidson University's recent success in the NCAA Tournament where the 10th-seeded Wildcats reached the Great 8 before falling to top-seeded Kansas this past Sunday. After working with the Charlotte Bobcats last spring as an internship offered at Croton High to seniors during the 4th marking period, Thom enrolled at Davidson where he latched on to Coach Bob McKillop's staff. ""Billy has been sensational," Coach McKillop said. "His comfort level with what we are doing and his confidence to immerse himself in our program are such big pluses for the program. He has become a valuable and vital member of our team."

Looks like the kid might be a chip off the old block. His father, Cold Spring resident and Croton-Harmon basketball Coach Bill Thom, has been mentoring river-town folks for more than two decades.
