Little Stony Point Clean-up
Please join the friends and members of the Little Stony Point Citizens' Association on Sunday, April 27 from 10am to 2pm, in an effort to cleanup Little Stony Point and Sandy Beach in Cold Spring. Take this opportunity to celebrate Earth Week by making a difference in your community.
Little Stony Point and Sandy Beach are invaluable resources for the people of Philipstown and the surrounding area. Because of its location on the river, southeast of Cornwall Bay, the point is a trap for river debris that is carried there by the tides and prevailing winds. The extreme high tides and storms of winter have left behind a considerable amount of plastic, foam, wood, and just about anything that floats.
The members of the Little Stony Point Citizens' Association can use all the help they can get to clean-up Little Stony Point and carry on the tradition that got started with Scenic Hudson's "Great River Sweep". Work gloves and trash bags will be provided at the clean-up site. All you need to do is show up, hopefully with your friends and family. If you have any questions about the event, please call Rich Anderson at 265-7815.
Little Stony Point is a state owned recreational resource operated through a cooperative agreement between New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and the Little Stony Point Citizens' Association. It is located off of Route 9D, ½ mile north of the Village of Cold Spring.
