Tina Merando to Receive 1st Annual Award of Distinction in Records Management and Archival Excellence
Putnam County Clerk Dennis Sant to present award at luncheon

County Clerk Dennis J. Sant is proud to present the Honorable Tina Merando, Philipstown Town Clerk, with Putnam County's 1st Annual Award of Distinction in Records Management and Archival Excellence at a luncheon honoring Ms. Merando given by the Friends of County Clerk Dennis Sant on April 20, 2008 at Centennial Golf Club, Simpson Road, Carmel, New York beginning at 2pm.

County Clerk Sant states that "Town Clerk Merando is one of many Putnam County unsung heroes who have taken on the responsibilities of preserving our vital records and protecting our historic treasures. These are people who carry titles of Historian, Clerk, Record Management Officer and Archivist and whose duties are to preserve and protect all of the important records and treasures for our future generations."

New York State Senator Vincent Liebell will also be presenting Ms. Merando with a New York State Senate Proclamation recognizing her efforts on behalf of the State of New York at the luncheon.

County Clerk Sant states that "Putnam County has been a leader in local government records management for nearly two decades. A government that values its records empowers its citizens and accepts the oversight that an open society demands. Putnam County is rich in history; and, most important is the mid-Hudson region. Before we go into the future, it is imperative that we learn from our past."

Please come out and join the Friends of Dennis Sant for a delightful afternoon and congratulate Tina for a job well done. If interested, please contact Roger Chirico at 265-9324
