Cold Spring Lions Offer Scholarship to 2008 Graduate

The Cold Spring Lions Club will be offering a $2,000 scholarship to a 2008 graduate of an accredited educational institution.

The candidate must have been a resident of Philipstown since July 1, 2007.

The awarding of the scholarship will be based on need, scholarship and potential to succeed.

Applications are available in the Guidance Offices at O'Neill H.S., Panas H.S. and Haldane H.S. Application are also available by contacting the C.S. Lions Scholarship Chairman Frank Milkovich, 55 Healy Road, Cold Spring.

2008 marks the 48th consecutive year that the Cold Spring Lions Club has been awarding scholarships. In 2007 the Lions were able to raise additional funds and gave a total of $6,000 to Philipstown graduates.

It is hoped that the community will continue to support the fundraising drives initiated by the C.S. Lions so that more graduates receive the needed financial assistance to further their education.
