Math, Logic, Spelling and Charades - PV's Third Graders Put Their Minds to Work in Raucous, Fun-Filled PTA Grade Level Event

Putnam Valley third graders put their minds - and their legs - to the test in a fast-paced, fun-filled, hometown version of the popular game Cranium at the PTA-sponsored Grade Level event Thursday March 20. Led by Putnam Valley Elementary School teacher Barbara Parmly, teams of third graders and their parents calculated, acted out, and spelled their way to answers to a variety of questions.

Once a team had answered a question, one member then ran to the overall scoreboard to check off that that challenge had been met. Adding to the hilarity, a team of PTA volunteers continuously moved the scoreboard around the room - making the game not only a test of academic excellence, but also of speed and powers of observation! An excellent time was had by all.
