The Culmination of a Mighty Good Year: Garrison's 7th & 8th Grades Bring Shakespeare From the Page to Their Stage
This Thursday the 7th and 8th grade students will perform scenes from Shakespeare's The Tempest and Much Ado About Nothing in culmination of a joint project aimed at bringing the class curriculum to life. The presentation will begin at 7:30pm in the school gymnasium. This show has been directed by Ian Burger who teaches middle school English in Garrison with the support of Alison Mitchell, the artistic director of The Mighty Theater Company in Peekskill.
"This show is being performed in the round and every student is performing. The range and depth of the work these students and Mr. Burger are doing is truly inspiring", Ms. Mitchell said, "Mr. Burger has directed the 6th grade play for the last two years and his work on this piece has been remarkable. It is great to work with teachers who go above and beyond the call of duty in public education".
