Grateful PV Town Board Ready to Support Cahill Bill
To the Editor:

After more than two years of work on school financing, I am gratified to hear that the Putnam Valley Town Board is ready to support the Cahill bill to change school financing to an income based system. This bill, if passed by the state assembly and senate would give our residents some much needed tax relief. Our local state assemblywoman and senator have not yet come out in support of this bill, but after all our hard work, I am hopeful that the Town's support will be one more step toward this much needed change. We have to stop pushing our residents out of their homes.

I am also very pleased that the Board is resurrecting talks about the solar photovoltaic project for Town Hall. The NYSERDA grant that I secured for solar power is still available, and Assemblywoman Galef is going to help us with the rest of the financing. Since that will only save us less than $3 per person, perhaps we should start a 3 buck fundraiser to make this project happen now. Unlike Mr. Tendy, I believe the science about global warming, and consider this to be an excellent investment in the future. Alternative energy is one field that can give our economy a much needed boost. NYSERDA's presentation about solar energy for Putnam Valley is already available on DVD.

Now I would like to see the highly successful Comprehensive Plan committee reconvened as the Implementation Committee and for that committee to form a Master Plan committee for Oregon Corners, so that we can continue to move forward.
