Haldane's PARP Program Concludes with Party at Jumpin' Jakes on April 18

Parents as Reading Partners (PARP) concludes its successful 2008 program with an exciting event in Fishkill on Friday, April 18, from 5- 8pm. As a special reward after weeks of diligent reading, in lieu of the traditional PARP ice cream party, all students enrolled in the PARP program are invited to the closing celebration at Jumpin' Jakes, a fun new indoor "playzone" full of interactive, inflatable play structures. Students should bring their reading logs for admittance.

Activities will include lots of active play. There will be a quiz game related to the PARP books sent home to participants. Participants will be eligible to win exciting raffle prizes, such as Tuxedo Ridge ski passes for four; a free dance class at Hudson Valley Dance Studio in Cold Spring; free passes for four to Poughkeepsie Children's Museum; Ugly Doll from Country Goose in Cold Spring; "Life Is Good" water bottle from Hudson Valley Outfitters in Cold Spring and more!

PARP is a national PTAsponsored program, funded in part by a grant from Target, to encourage reading among elementary children. PARP had 106 participants this year.
