$25,000 Raised for Putnam/ Northern Westchester Women's Resource Center at Benefit

The Putnam/Northern Westchester Women's Resource Center hosted its 10th Annual Hudson Valley Food & Wine Experience at the Villa Barone Hilltop Manor on Wednesday, April 16. The areas finest restaurants, caterers, wineries and specialty food purveyors generously donated their time and talents to present guests with a delightful tasting experience.

The evening raised more than $25,000 to support the Women's Resource Center which provides educational programs and programs for victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse, including individual and group counseling, court advocacy, a sexual assault nurse-examiner program in local hospitals to assist victims of rape, a 24 hour hotline, and a shelter for abused women and children.

The Women's Resource Center thanks all of the generous, talented individual and business sponsor for making the Food & Wine Experience a success. We encourage members of the community to support these businesses throughout the year as they have supported the Center in helping make our community a more secure place for women, children and families.

The Women's Resource Center's mission is to provide advocacy, education and services to the community in order to create a safe, supportive environment that eliminates domestic violence against women and children and promotes gender equality.

The Putnam/Northern Westchester Women's Resource Center, a not-for-profit organization founded in 1979, provides Counseling and Educational Programs designed to provide families with safety, education, counseling and advocacy to help them heal and recover from the trauma of violence they have experienced or witnessed. The center maintains a 24-hour hotline, (845) 628- 2166, which offers emotional support, safety and referrals to individuals and families in a crisis situation, and a shelter for Women and Children who are victims of domestic violence.
