2008 Scholarship Winners Announced by Putnam County Retired Teachers Association
The Putnam County Retired Teachers Association is pleased to announce the 2008 Scholarship winners who were selected by their BOCES teachers.
Putnam Valley High School - June 11 Krystal Miranda, New Visions Health (Recommending teacher-Veronica Farlow); Katelyn Sillery, New Visions Health (teacher-Veronica Farlow); Ashley Taylor, Culinary Arts (teachers-Tomaseski and Guiffre).
Carmel High School -April 29 Hakim Harris-Hylton, TV Production (Recommending teacher-Elizabeth Marques).
Brewster High School - April 29 James Neider, Auto Mechanics/ Automotive Technology (Recommending teachers-Mary Simonelli, Ann Prokop, John Paul Pegoli).
Mahopac High School - May 13 Kristin Barker, Introduction to Teaching (Recommending teacher-Stephanie Buckhout); Nicole Gomes, Medical Assistant (teacher-Maria Pontbriand); Symon Jornov, Masony (teacher-Erik Cantamesa); Chris Langley, Computer Assisted Design (teachers-Gerald Markel, Mary Simonelli); Gloria Zhingri, Business Computer Technology (teacher-Josephine Scala).
The awards will be given at the Board of Education meetings in Brewster, Carmel, and Mahopac and at the Awards Ceremony in Putnam Valley. Please join us if you can. We congratulate all the winners for their fine performance and thank all those who participated.
