Cold Spring's Tom Costigan Selected MAAC Pitcher of the Week
Sophomore Standout Repeat Winner for Conference Honor
Manhattan College sophomore right-hander Tom Costigan was selected MAAC Pitcher of the Week announced this afternoon by league officials. Costigan threw 10 shutout innings last week leading the Jaspers to a pair of wins over Iona and Sacred Heart. It marks the second time this season Costigan was presented with this prestigious honor.
Costigan, a product of Our Lady of Lourdes High School, limited his opponents to just eight hits, a .216 batting average and walked just one batter. On Saturday, he threw a complete game shutout against Iona in his fourth win of the season. Costigan allowed just five hits and struck out seven batters over nine innings of work.
Costigan harbors a 4-2 record, along with a 5.64 ERA over 59.0 innings of action. He ranks second on the team with 37 strikeouts.
