North Highlands Fire District Provides Update on Firehouse Reconstruction and Renovation Project
The Board of Fire Commissioners of the Philipstown North Highlands Fire District would like to provide their residents with an update on the Reconstruction and Renovation project of the Firehouse. Bid openings were performed on April 8th with the lowest bids as follows:
Prime Contractor - Meyer Construction Corporation, located in Pleasant Valley, NY at $2,958,800
Electrical Contractor - Pidala Electric, Inc., located in Cold Spring, NY at $325,000
Plumbing Contractor - Southeast Plumbing Corporation, located in Brewster, NY at $290,200
HVAC - Southeast Mechanical Corporation, located in Brewster, NY at $534,000

These bids have been accepted and contracts will be completed shortly, with construction expected to begin in the next few weeks.

The volunteer firefighters of the North Highlands Eng. Co.#1 along with the Commissioners have been donating many hours, over the past two months, towards packing and moving the contents of the firehouse to prepare for the start of construction. As many may have noticed, storage trailers and office trailers have been delivered and stationed in the rear of the firehouse, for use by the volunteer firefighters while under construction.

For the safety of all, the Board of Commissioners would like to remind everyone that parking will only be allowed in the gravel area near Fishkill Road, when construction begins. They appreciate the public's support in this project and while everyone will be operating under tighter circumstances, the Board asks for the public's patience and continued support during this process. They look forward to seeing everyone at the ribbon cutting ceremony!
