Putnam County Department of Health is Offering Two Free Programs for All New Moms
Are you a mom of a child between the ages of 0 and 1 who would like to learn more about newborn care, breastfeeding, child development, parenting and child safety as well as receive social and emotional support? The parenting programs offered by the Putnam County Department of Health are for you.
Parenting programs are being offered in Kent and Mahopac every Friday. The New Mommy's Chat Program is held in Kent every Friday from 2- 4pm at the Kent Public Library on Route 52. The New Mommy's Chat Program is hosted by Putnam County Department of Health's Maternal Child Health Nurse Anka Roberto, RN, MSN, MPH, Certified Lactation Consultant, in cooperation with the Kent Public Library. The Chat Program helps many new moms with managing their newborn and also offers tips on caring for older siblings. The Chat Program is primarily for moms of children ages 0-1 year old. Anka specializes in pediatrics and has experience working with children with special needs and can also provide valuable support to moms that have children with congenital heart defects. Please call Anka at (845) 278-6558 ext. 2124 to register. Siblings are more than welcome, too!
The Putnam County Department of Health, in cooperation with the Mahopac Public Library, is also offering the New Moms Group.
