Marie Zarcone Deserves to be Reelected
Dear Editor:

I would like to urge my fellow Putnam Valley residents to get involved and vote on May 20 in the school budget. As you remember, in 2005 the school budget passed by one vote. Also, at that time, Marie Zarcone, an experienced school board Trustee, and the president of the concerned taxpayers, won a seat on the School board. She is now seeking reelection. Her opponent is a PTA co-president. We all realize that our kids and grand kids need the best possible education, so they can compete in the global economy. At the same time, when it comes to taxation we have to find a middle ground and can not simply tax corporation out of business who supply us with jobs, nor should life long residents be forced to sell their homes because of high taxes.

Approximately 75% of the taxes we pay in Putnam Valley are school taxes. Marie Zarcone is the best candidate. She is balanced. She understands the importance of a high quality education, and at the same time understands the school budgets and the priorities

.She is not afraid to ask questions to make sure the students are getting best the education they deserve, and the taxpayer. Payers are getting value for their hard earned tax dollars. I applaud you, Marie for your hard work. You deserve to be reelected.

Hope you see you at the polls.
